I am a university student, athlete, and public speaker, currently studying a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham. My passion is diagnostic system design, and my engagements in this area have spanned several aspects of the field.
I am also very interested in the role of teaching in STEM disciplines, and have significant teaching experience. I recently obtained my Trinity CertTESOL qualification (Ofqual Level 5), and completed two full-time placements at schools in Thailand and Cambodia.
I obtained a first-class BEng with Honours in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Glasgow. I achieved excellent grades throughout my academic career, and was fortunate to have been recognised with several awards and scholarships. My personal highlight was my receipt of the William Dawson Bursary in 2020, which is given to the top two students in second-year engineering (across all degree programs). After my bachelor's degree, I worked abroad with an educational social enterprise to build my teaching and personnel management skills, and to reflect on the next stage of my engineering career.
Upon returning to the UK, I undertook an MSc in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Warwick, earning a distinction and completing my project with the Microsensors and Bioelectronics Laboratory.
